Les and his twin brother were born in an abandoned building in the Liberty City section of Miami. They were both adopted at the age of six weeks by Mrs. Mamie Brown, a single woman with a low income and little education, but a very big heart. Les had no formal education beyond high school, but with persistence and determination has become a popular morning DJ, completed three legislative terms, hosted the nationally syndicated Les Brown Show on TV, authored several books, and is one of the nation’s premier keynote speakers.
